Community Service
Sigma Kappa Sorority provides many opportunities for members to become involved in community service and philanthropic projects. Chapters across the country support Sigma Kappa philanthropies, which include:

Gerontology
In 1954 Sigma Kappa became the first national sorority to recognize the need for continued, comprehensive work on the study of aging and the needs of elderly populations. Collegiate and alumnae members throughout the country volunteer their time and talent in support of numerous projects to assist and benefit the elderly.
For 50 years, the Atlanta Alumnae chapter has supported the residents at Mountain View Personal Care Home in Decatur playing bingo and celebrating resident birthdays. The chapter provides cake and ice cream for monthly birthday celebrations and holiday parties for the residents.Keep a watch on Upcoming Events for details on our next visit. Interested in getting involved with our philanthropy events? Contact Lisa Simmons- Hall at (678) 429-0803.

Alzheimer's Disease
In 1984 Sigma Kappa responded to an increasingly critical problem facing older Americans by adding Alzheimer's Disease research and education to its philanthropic activities. Research grants are made each year to universities and other institutions actively engaged in the fight against Alzheimer's Disease.

Locally we contribute to the Georgia Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association
by participating annually in The Walk to End Alzheimer's. Join our team and donate on behalf of the Atlanta Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Kappa in the fight against this devastating disease.

The Walk to End Alzheimer's is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research. Since 1989, the Walk to End Alzheimer's has raised more than $300 million for the cause.

A campaign for Sigma Kappa.
Atlanta Alumnae supports Foundation's five-year, $5 million capital campaign that will position Sigma Kappa as a leader among sororities in leadership, scholarships, and philanthropy. We have pledged $1,000 a year for the next five years in support of this initiative being the first Alumnae Chapter to pledge to the campaign.
